Collection: NAPLES & POMPEII
I would like to begin the photo series on Naples, the "Dangerous Mistress," with a famous quote from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: "See Naples and die" from his "Italian Journey," which describes the overwhelming beauty and joie de vivre of Naples. Goethe was deeply impressed by the city's vibrant life, culture, nature (Vesuvius, Pompeii), and unique atmosphere, which he perceived as a paradise and in which he saw a revelation of southern life.
During my photo trips there – I also feel a family connection to the metropolis – I have had the opportunity to experience this beauty and joie de vivre, combined with an existing mix of flexibility and serenity, again and again in all seasons. The photos presented here are primarily from springtime.
